The day began with a heartfelt first look on the catwalk overlooking the museum’s atrium. The natural light and artistic surroundings made for stunning photographs that captured their excitement and love.

The ceremony took place in the courtyard just outside of the museum. The weather that day was calling for rain and storms, however just 15 minutes before the ceremony the clouds had parted, making way for beautifully diffused sunlight. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by friends and family situated between a floral arch provided by Floral Designs by Kay. The minimalist design of the space allowed the focus to remain on the couple and their promises to each other.

One special moment during the ceremony was when the bride, who is also a wedding photographer, borrowed my camera to take pictures of the groom and guests as she entered the ceremony. Being able to capture those moments on her own from her own perspective allowed for unique photos to be captured in a way I have not experienced before.

For the reception, guests moved into the museum’s atrium, where place cards and table settings were unique paintings selected by the bride and groom to represent each guest. The meal was provided by Robert J Events and the music and entertainment was provided by DJ Rev Dev, who was able to quickly adapt to the evening and relocated his entire DJ setup to the outside patio after dinner in order to bring the party into the cool evening air.

The bride and groom were able to make the reception even more special for their guests by hiring a live portrait painter who painted custom portraits for every guest and vendor in attendance. This allowed for everybody to be able to walk away from the reception that night with a piece of artwork of their own to always remember the night by.
